Six that Sizzle!
A glimpse at the future

As "new vehicle introduction" years go, I can tell you that 2007 is shaping up to be an amazing year. Recently, I attended the Detroit Auto show and found this year's vehicle offerings to be among the most sophisticated, well designed and well built of any year in recent memory. It used to be that only "high line" vehicles carried comfort and option goodies...no more! Vehicles at every level in the spectrum are absolutely brimming with comfort, quality, varying levels of luxury, and "drop dead" gorgeous good looks straight from their concept car brethren.
Check out our, "What we can't wait to drive this year" article in this newsletter and you'll see what I mean.

2007 Mini Cooper
All new, but character left intact.
by permission of New Car Test Drive
The Mini Cooper has offered since its introduction as a 2002 model a satisfying combination of peppy performance, a distinctive bulldog appearance, and custom ordering of a variety of trim and color options in advance of production at a very reasonable price. Though significantly re-engineered to meet BMW and environmental standards, the new models haven't changed this success formula, but simply improved on it.

The Good Sheperd
CIA Beginnings?
adapted from hollywood reporter.com
Who knew Robert De Niro has such a keen fascination for foreign policy and espionage? "The Good Shepherd," his first directorial effort since his debut feature, "A Bronx Tale" (1993), is a thoroughly knowledgeable, carefully researched account of the founding and development of the CIA from World War II through the Bay of Pigs fiasco in 1961. While a bit unwieldy at nearly three hours and at times slow going, the film is absolutely fascinating for anyone who shares De Niro's passions.

2007 Ford F-150
Smooth ride, sharp handling, serious capability.
by permission of New Car Test Drive
The Ford F-150 comes in a broad range of models, yet they all seem to have nicely balanced suspensions that make them enjoyable to drive and well-designed, comfortable cabs.
They offer a quiet and refined ride over dirt roads, rough pavement and freeway slabs. Yet they also offer controlled handling, with a minimum of body roll in corners. The steering is responsive for cornering and these trucks track like a laser beam on the highway. Brakes are smooth and responsive. The big 5.4-liter V8 is smooth and quiet, and delivers quick acceleration. It's rated at 300 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque and 15/19 mpg City/Highway. The 4.6-liter V8 and 4.2-liter V6 engines perform well, also.

"The truth of the matter is that there's nothing you can't accomplish if: (1) You clearly decide what it is that you're absolutely committed to achieving, (2) You're willing to take massive action, (3) You notice what's working or not, and (4) You continue to change your approach until you achieve what you want, using whatever life gives you along the way."
