Having something break on a nearly new car could lead you to love it more.

Lexus IS250 owners can attest to that. Lexus' dealerships offer some of the industry's best perks (in-showroom cappuccino machines, among them) and the brand's service department is known to work overtime for customers. Lexus is just one of several luxury brands offering over-the-top dealership service that separates their vehicles from the rest--and instills buyer loyalty and satisfaction. Join us as we take you through Some Great Cars for the Buck!

New Year, New Choices.
Letter to Our Readers

At the turn of every year I try to look ahead and assess what new goals, experiences and purchases I might want to consider in the months ahead. A big new year’s decision for many of us is our choice of transportation.  This decision generally boils down to one of three things… purchase or lease a new vehicle, purchase a pre-owned car, truck or SUV or you can fix up your current vehicle. As the largest auto dealer in New England we are here to support you whichever way you go.

[Take a look and you’ll see what I mean:]

Basic transportation in a small package

The Smart Fortwo is an all-new entry in the U.S. car market. At less than nine feet long, it is the smallest car sold in the United States. As its name suggests, it is a two-seater. It comes in coupe and convertible versions, both two-door models. It's powered by a tiny 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine, and the transmission is a five-speed automated manual. The Smart Fortwo is rear-wheel drive. Meant for use in the city, it's capable of speeds of up to 90 mph.

Fresh marinara sauce makes all the difference in these robust sandwiches. Look for it near the cheeses and fresh pasta at the supermarket.

BMW already offers more different size and shapes of cars and SUVs than at any time in its history, and the North American debut of the 2008 BMW 1 Series signals another attempt to provide the sporty-minded buyer on a budget a car that he or she will really enjoy driving.

It has all the style, performance and features a driver could want in a compact package built around one of the best chassis in the segment, and the only one with rear-wheel drive.

Cars of the Future

Detroit’s North American International Auto Show is always a showcase for wacky ideas and new design concepts. But this year, what really matters about the futuristic prototypes on display is what’s under the hood.

Faced with tough new fuel economy rules and increased pressures to reduce CO2 emissions, automakers are offering an array of alternative propulsion systems that could one day replace today’s internal combustion engines.

Charlie Wilson's War
A sharp political satire based on real-life events
Courtesy hollywoodreporter.com

Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts scheme to end the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan.

"Charlie Wilson's War" is the anti-"Mr. Smith Goes to Washington." In Frank Capra's political fable, a naive and idealistic man gets appointed to fill a Senate seat, runs into corruption and hardball politics but perseveres through sheer goodness.

Clementines in Ginger Syrup

Like cinnamon in this country, cardamom plays a starring role in Algerian sweets. Paired with star anise in a gingery syrup, it gives clementine slices an irresistible aroma, but the syrup would be just as wonderful over any kind of sliced fruit.
