2009 Dodge Challenger
The new modern classic musclecar is a home run, in spite of the times
by permission of New Car Test Drive
After a hiatus of more than 30 years the Dodge Challenger returned as a new model for 2008. And Chrysler's biggest styling hit since the PT Cruiser promptly sold out. For 2009, the Challenger lineup is expanded to three models: the new SE, the new R/T, and the high-performance SRT8.
Challenger is all about the in-your-face attitude that's a Dodge hallmark: big car, big presence, big power...
The 2009 Challenger brings a very distinctive look to mid-size four-seaters, with a moderate price for the V6 car and considerable performance value for the V8 versions.

Most Valuable Collector Cars
Courtesy forbes.com
Remember that scene in Ferris Buehler's Day Off, when Ferris and Cameron take the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California out for a spin? Ever since many saw the movie in 1986, they've wanted a '61 GT of their own. No problem.
All they need is about $11 million.
That particular vehicle is the most expensive collectible car sold at auction in the past year. While the collector car market is massive, with some 25 million interested participants who follow sales and auctions (though only about 6 million who actually own classic cars), the vast majority of the market is buying and selling vehicles priced $15,000 to $50,000, according to AutoTrader Classics, an online marketplace and print magazine for classic cars.

2008 Saturn Astra
New Saturn is GM's best small car.
by permission of New Car Test Drive
The Saturn Astra is an all-new car. At least it's new to the American automotive landscape: Astra has been offered for years in Europe under the Opel flag, where it's been giving the VW Golf a run for top-seller bragging rights. The new Astra is so much better in every respect than the Saturn model it replaces that we've forgotten the earlier compact's name.
Saturn Astra brings one of GM's more popular cars stateside without losing any of the good qualities in the trip over the pond. And it has plenty of good qualities to choose from, not least being an economy car that doesn't feel like one.

Tropic Thunder
Courtesy Hollywood Reporter
Oh, what a lovely war movie Ben Stiller and his platoon have concocted in "Tropic Thunder." Stiller -- who stars, directs, co-writes, co-produces and probably acts as animal wrangler as well -- imagines a lost patrol of self-absorbed yet terminally insecure actors working on a war movie to end all war movies in Southeast Asia only to wind up in a real-life combat with narco-terrorists.

There are no eggs in this recipe — it's the cornstarch that gives the gelato a smooth, silky texture. Fine-quality chocolate provides its rich flavor.

Honk if You Love Tailgate Parties
7 tips to help you score with your guests
Courtesy fineliving.com
What happens in a parking lot stays in a parking lot. Now that's an advertisement you'll probably never hear or see. And unless you're a connoisseur of asphalt, the parking lot isn't exactly known as entertainment central.
But throw in a hearty jambalaya, a mouth–watering Philly steak cheese sandwich, some good friends and ice-cold beers, and you've got the makings of one heck of a party. From sporting events and rock concerts to operas (yep, even the Santa Fe Opera in New Mexico has gotten into the act), a major outdoor event isn't quite the same without first kicking it off with a tailgate party.
