 Honda appears finally to have learned how to play in the hybrid game. Simply putting a hybrid powertrain in a regular car doesn't cut it. If a carmaker wants to be taken seriously, it had better deliver a hybrid that looks like what the market has said it wants a hybrid to look like.

 Like the concoctions and confections photographed so lovingly in the film, Julie & Julia goes down easy, a story of two women's parallel lives in which husbands are supportive, rich food doesn't make you fat, and good friends come over for dinner. It's a Nora Ephron movie, of course, which means that no heartbreak will last long and even poor people have exquisitely decorated apartments. But unlike some of Ephron's recent misfires, Julie & Julia has an ace in the hole with Meryl Streep, who once again has turned a summertime lark into something surprisingly satisfying.

2010 Cadillac SRX

 Cadillac repositioned its SRX crossover. Instead of a rear-wheel-drive based seven-passenger vehicle, the 2010 Cadillac SRX is a front-wheel-drive based five-passenger crossover aimed squarely at the leader in the segment.
The 2004-2009 SRX used the CTS sedan's rear-wheel-drive Sigma architecture, but the 2010 model is based on a new front-wheel-drive premium crossover architecture that will also host the Saab 9-4X.

 The all-new 2010 Buick LaCrosse is more stylish and luxurious than before.
The LaCrosse, you may or may not recall, is a midsize sedan. Launched as a 2005 model, we liked it. And the new design is part of a plan by General Motors to revamp the Buick lineup much as it successfully did with the Cadillac lineup. The change to the Buick line started with the Enclave midsize crossover SUV, a vehicle that impressed us greatly.
